This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 23, 2009:
When my 14 year old comes home at lunch from school, opens the door and says "anything to eat?"
Generally I am engaged in something 'important' at the computer. His words align me with the pair of cardinals this week fledging their young in my backyard.

Your answer made me smile. Lately, I've been having arm-waving, mouth-frothing rants about being the “procurer” of food for my family. (can't you guys figure that out for yourself once in a while!) I was the “chef cook and bottle-washer” for my Mom, brother and sister, because she was a widow, so I think I'm burning out in that respect. I could easily go through meal-times doing something which “feeds” me creatively. But, there's always those hungry mouths to feed. I don't think the Mama Cardinal worries about “feeding” herself “creatively.” I would suck as a Momma Bird.
